Shallaki is a plant used as an herbal medicine in Ayurveda that is native to India, primarily the state of Punjab. Its tree is of medium size and its leaves are green like that of neem plant. In ayurveda, it has been used in treating arthritis. Its extract is known to reduce pain in the joints and is useful in case of swollen joints and inflammatory join disorders. It rejuvenates the blood vessels damaged by muscular contractions and also improves the blood supply to the joints. It has been evident in studies that it acts as an aid in attaining flexible joints and increases resistance against inflammation.


Apart from joint care, Shallaki is also useful in respiratory disorders. Researchers have seen that its extract inhibits characteristics that increase vascular permeability and improve blood supply. It has also been observed that Shallaki normalizes the function of lungs and strengthens immune system and thus initiates reduction in the symptoms of asthma.


It also has been recommended for getting relief from back pain and skeletal muscular pain as well. As a dietary supplement, it improves digestion by helping in better absorption of food.
