How to Treat Fistula the Ayurvedic Way?
People who are suffering or have been suffering from fistula-in-ano are aware of the extent of pain it causes. Doctors trick the patients into believing that surgery is the only way out. But, is it the right and best solution to cure fistula? Let’s discuss this in detail.
What is Fistula-in-ano?
A fistula-in-ano or anal fistula is a two-sided canal. It is an abnormal hole or cavity that is lined with granulation tissue and connects the anal canal to perianal skin. The internal opening is in the anal canal and its external opening in the skin near the anus. This leads to leakage of stool from the other opening, pus forming, leading to discomfort, pain, and sometimes fever as well. Bhagandara (Fistula) as referred to in Ayurveda may be accompanied by a discharge from the anus.
This commonly occurs in people with a history of anal abscesses. They can form when anal abscesses do not heal properly.
